Early Childhood Program

At Greater York Dance, inspiring the very young dancer is our joy! Many classes are available for children age 2 1/2 to 7.

We use a syllabus and our instructors are well-qualified and ready to work with young children. Classes are NOT taught by teens. This makes our programs both safe and fun. Our classes are for dancers of all aspirations. No need to want to be a pro or give your entire life to dance...yet our classes are based on national standards of dance education. Each dancer is able to build upon their skills as they wish.

Intro to Music & Dance

An introduction to music and movement; this class is for the very young dancer who is ready to dance!  We combine rhythm and coordination through a variety of engaging songs.

This class is a non-performing class.

This starter ballet class is designed to be fun-filled as young students learn about famous ballets.  Dress-up, too!  Dancers may wear costumes, tutus, chiffon skirts, etc. overtop of their leotards to class.  Dancers will explore the beginnings of ballet technique, flexibility exercises and coordination in this charming class.

This is a beginning ballet class for students ready to concentrate and learn “real” ballet.  This is a technique only class; however, dancers are invited to join the Ballet Club and perform in the June Show!  The Ballet Club Rehearsal is back to back w/class. Attend one or two days per week - class only or with rehearsal(s).
